Sunset Message

The MotiNetwork will cease to exist March 31st, 2018
Google has done a wonderful job pulling the plug on all of our traffic, and at this point, the sites cost more to run in server resources than the income they bring in. Its been a hell of 10 year ride, but the time has come to sunset the network.

I Deny - politics

That human activity has any impact on the environment. It's just a political platform concocted by the liberal agenda.

I'm just telling you what I see. I've seen them leave trees with no value like birch on clear cuts, but never with there branches stripped completely. And most equipment leaves a clean stump lower than that.
fauxnews - May 12, 2015, 10:23 pm
*thumbs up* I have a friend on the west coast who is a logger. It really is cool stuff, lots of interesting tech. Thank you for sharing, mate. Cheers :-)
Curlyrocks - May 12, 2015, 9:18 pm
Mostly thinning and planting, and I've been to clear cuts and burns, this looks like a burn. And water bombers, helicopters for equipment and all the equipment used in fire suppression uses a lot of energy, as do most things most people take for granted
Zeitguy - May 12, 2015, 6:53 pm
The image was of a clear cut area in China. At least that is what the article stated. Deforestation is a component of AGW, but you're welcome to deny that as well.
Oldsod - May 12, 2015, 5:05 pm
That was my interpretation, anyway.
fauxnews - May 12, 2015, 4:14 pm
Despite that, cool observation Curly. You mentioned working in logging before. Have a great afternoon, mate. Cheers :-)
fauxnews - May 12, 2015, 4:13 pm
A MMCC induced fire, perhaps? X-D Even if not, still not proof against CC. I'm sure the picture is not the point of the poster, mate. I'm speculating here, but maybe Zeit is making fun of the crazy belief that man has NO negative impact on the environment
Curlyrocks - May 12, 2015, 3:16 pm
The fact that there's still trees standing just with no branches and the stumps aren't cut, it looks like the trees fell would sure indicate a fire to me.
rebeccaolsen - May 12, 2015, 10:35 am
What "sucks more" is your ignorance, actually, hun :) Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.Science has debunked ALL the fallacies you listed.Simply putting the word "facts" into your comment isn't enough. You'll have to do better that, denier
freasy - May 12, 2015, 9:57 am
Huge areas of forest and grasslands used to regularly burn. Mankind now fights these fires. Specific species require these fires to reproduce. Facts suck, emotion sucks more

It's A Sad State Of Affairs - politics

When journalists hold a NFL quarterback to a higher standard than the Secretary of State. No law decrees that a quarterback must turn over his texts & emails to the NFL the way that the Federal Records Act demands that the Secretary of State turn over correspondence to the government. Yet the failure of the four-time Super Bowl winner to share his iPhones, computers, and other gadgets and gizmos with NFL investigator Ted Wells sends the Fourth Estate into a frenzy.

Diversity - politics

Diversity: On the one hand, youi have two doctors, the son of an immigrant, a woman, an African-American, two first-generation Americans, six governors, a preacher, the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, a man who managed to find success and happiness without a college degree, a former secretary, an IRS Commissioner, two former Air Force officers, and Donald Trump. On the other hand, you have The Chosen One. Not quite sure you understand the meaning of diversity...

What's HOT

Those Evil Republicans - politics

I can't believe their top presidential candidate is a filthy rich 1%er, has close ties to Wall Street, opposed gay marriage, voted for the Iraq War, voted YES on reauthorizing the PATRIOT Act, paid female staffers 72 cents for every dollar paid men, supports the Keystone XL Pipeline, promoted fracking, has taken millions from Big Oil companies, announced public support of Monsanto's GMO seeds & chemicals, covered up sexual harassment of women. Oh, wait...THAT'S HILLARY.
