Mr. M assistance request

Postby WTFO » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:00 pm

Mr. M,

For a number of weeks, we have had a member (Crankyhead) accusing other members of having multiple accounts. The accusation is that Arnnatz and Liberals are the same guy. I would greatly appreciate your help in clearing this matter up. If the accusation is correct, then whatever corrective actions you deem appropriate should be taken. If the accusation is baseless, again, whatever corrective actions you deem appropriate should be taken. I would only respectfully request that the results be made publically to set the example and (hopefully) prevent future ugliness of this type.

v/r,

PS. This request will also be made to Mr. M via PM.

and i'm in agreement without condition. That being said, it would be nice if the mod could run some kind of a script to determine if there are any people on the site with multiple accounts. Not a pre-condition, but it would be very thoughtful on the part of the mods to do that.

arnnatz/Liberals have IP overlap.

Please explain. Aliases are not allowed.

responded via pm. So that you know what I sent him, the body of my pm is listed below:

There have been times when I have used his computer and times when he has used my computer. The accounts belong to different people. If you check the ip addresses for the majority of uses, you will see that they differ. You can also check the email addresses to see that they are totally different. The Liberals account belongs to my brother-in-law and arnatz belongs to me

Now that I think of it, your statement that there is "ip overlap" really has zero meaning.

Home networks share a single public facing IP address. Let's say that someone who has an account with the login id on Motifake of XYZZY on a home network. The external facing IP address is say 214.213.121.121
If someone else with a different login id on your network, say YZZYX logs connects a laptop to the same home network and logs into Motifake with this account. Your "IP overlap" statement would dictate that both XYZZY and YZZYX were one and the same person and both accounts would be in violation. It's obviously a false conclusion to anyone with any knowledge of NAT and IP addressing. There are other considerations as well. Let's say that two people from the same family wish to go to your network on the same computer but with different accounts (distinguished by separate email addresses) would that be a violation of your "IP Overlap"?

If you feel that the accounts are one and the same, please feel free to delete mine (arnnatz) but you will have to consult with liberals as to what he wants done with his.

Mr M, just to set the record straight here, is there any kind of IP address overlap that exists between my account (crankyhead), and the other account that Liberals/arnnatz accusing me of using (loucseki)?

He seems intent on shifting the focus away from his own astroturfing, now that he's been outed for doing so.

After all, fair is fair, and he has the right to have his curiosity satisfied.

Appreciated, thank you.

There's a huge difference here: I'm not a whiny crybaby canadian troll. Besides IP Overlap is just plain bullshit as I've explained above. If you believe it's important or means anything, then you will believe that Kalkam and his wife, as an example, are the same person

Still, you have the right to know whether or not loucseki is my 'brother-in-law' or not  , and I'm happy to ask Mr M to give you that information.
