In fact, I believe it is dangerous to US interests and our allies. Regardless of Paul's inclusion in the convention, I don't believe this gives the election to the President. In the end, most people will vote based on their wallets. With the unemployment numbers rising, debt mounting (and the taxes that will follow), and home values dropping, the POTUS is in a very bad place IMO.
A lot of people see Romney as just as bad as Obama. Also, the GOP's stance on issues like gay marriage, the war on drugs, etc, is completely outdated. Whether you agree with stuff like that or not, you can't legislate people into morality. You have to let people do in the private lives as they wish, agree with it or not. I know so many people ( should be read as idiots) who are supporting Obama solely because of his stance on social issues. I know, it's retarded, but it's true.
As far as Ron Paul I can accept him for some of his fault's on foreign policy. A President that actually obeys the Constitution will do things in accordance with the balance of powers, not just executive order. So if it was decided a foreign policy move was too extreme, he wouldn't do it.
As far as our foreign policy, it isn't even debatable that it needs reform. Anybody familiar with the history of the Roman empire can see where we are headed. I hate to use the commie bastards as an example, but China has a strong military, and it's not in 130 countries, it's at home. Yet they are strong enough to make people think twice before attacking them.
