We need to give them more time to run a muck and mess everything up and have their fun doing to conservatives what Bush did to liberals IE run the country like an a** hole

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 5:41pm, #54993

Although I agree with the message, the application of an isolated incident to proclaim a general ideology is sometimes inaccurate.

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 5:27pm, #54992

If only she could "blink" Major Nelson back into existence. RIP Larry.

StoneTools - May 5, 2013 5:12pm, #54991

For all I know, you have a p**** as well. I don't know you any more than you know me.

StoneTools - May 5, 2013 5:02pm, #54990

It would be nice if both of them dialed it back a notch.

Curlyrocks - May 5, 2013 4:51pm, #54989

I know this may be the least popular opinion ever, but according to the crime stats wouldn't it be a better idea to by pass a**ault weapon control and go straight to hand gun control?

OTC - May 5, 2013 4:46pm, #54988

That's because all the hatred comes from the left

Curlyrocks - May 5, 2013 4:44pm, #54987

That flag isn't hanging in too many CEO's office, it mostly hangs in trailer parks . They just want to hang on to the last little things they have including their rights.

OTC - May 5, 2013 4:40pm, #54986

Actually, I gave a citation on another post, go look for it.

Curlyrocks - May 5, 2013 4:37pm, #54985

Liberal or not the media did dump all over Bush and for good reason. I think that people are so sick of hating on the president that its best for their ratings to look the other way on the terrible sh!t Obama does.

Curlyrocks - May 5, 2013 4:31pm, #54984

Lets not forget about a private prison system, where it is more profitable to keep a stoner on work release then some psycho who should be in jail. And cop stats show an increase in arrests while psychos keep every one demanding more police and strict law

Curlyrocks - May 5, 2013 4:18pm, #54983

Than i would to see it used for carbon sequestering. I think that as technology advances, reduction in carbon output and increased energy yield will come natural. People want that and the free market can solve the problem I believe.

Curlyrocks - May 5, 2013 4:14pm, #54982

I would take issue with the inevitable tax increase that would come along with that. But if it's going to happen I would prefer to see the money spent on a program of promoting fully bio-degradable plastics used in packaging and for short term use product

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 4:11pm, #54981

At least in reference to a democracy.

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 4:11pm, #54980

Semantics JGalt? Think we are are the same page. Socialism should be the definition of taxation.

JGalt - May 5, 2013 3:42pm, #54978

regimes where spending it on 'iterest payments' is not the only thing that kills the golden goose- Now our gov't is advertising to bring foreigners in to add them to the welfare roles...Cloward Piven strategy....

JGalt - May 5, 2013 3:41pm, #54977

redistribution? How about generational equity- building schools with bonds that are paid for by those using those schools the next 30-50 years. Paving roads, etc. Taxes are not mainly for redistribution unless you are talking socialist or communist

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 3:02pm, #54976

Only the private sector creates wealth. Taxes are a means of redistribution of that created wealth. When that wealth is being spent on interest on credit, there is less for " the good of the nation" and increase taxation will eventually kill the Goose.

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 2:15pm, #54975

I guess that is the lesser of available evils.

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 1:59pm, #54974

The GOP are certainly not absolved of culpability. Good point PFox.

Rudedog - May 5, 2013 1:52pm, #54973

Our greatest enemy is the inability of Washington to balance "our" checkbook. Nice post.

StoneTools - May 5, 2013 1:32pm, #54972

You seem to be quite the stalker, crankyhead. Is he the only one you stalk or do you do on other internet forums?

Cannabal - May 5, 2013 12:55pm, #54971

Well, the small bank perhaps.

crankyhead - May 5, 2013 12:52pm, #54970

So, no citations to back up your ridiculous claims then OTC?

crankyhead - May 5, 2013 12:51pm, #54969

Agree, or disagree, OTC?

terroraustralis - May 5, 2013 12:38pm, #54968

arguably, it is in the banks best interest, as higher employment and more people with stable incomes means more loans, and more loan repayments. what they lose in taxes they will regain, as a more stable economy means higher interest rates.

terroraustralis - May 5, 2013 12:35pm, #54967

true, but isnt it better to use profit taxes which only harm shareholder dividends of people who are already rich, than to use payroll taxes and sales taxes which affect jobs and viability of small retailers?

terroraustralis - May 5, 2013 12:32pm, #54966

we simply need to balance the factors we cannot control, with the factors we can control. we cannot control how much energy the sun produces, but we can control how much of it reaches the earth.

PapaFox - May 5, 2013 11:53am, #54965

Actually they based it more on the principles of the Enlightenment, such as the philosophy of John Locke. http://www.articlemyriad.com/influence-enlightenment-formation-united-states/

PapaFox - May 5, 2013 11:48am, #54964

Good book, especially for the Cold War period.

Oyster - May 5, 2013 11:35am, #54963

You're right. And the Founders didn't base the country on Christian values and schools were not held in churches either...

Oyster - May 5, 2013 11:22am, #54962

I cannot fathom how anyone who has children is not outraged by what is being placed on their shoulders and their yet to be born children.

Preacher Man - May 5, 2013 11:22am, #54961

It's the nature of the crazed extremist to say )and believe) that he speaks for an entire group. As VB just proved.

Oyster - May 5, 2013 10:32am, #54960

I can read, and it applies today. What he means is that you need to let capitalism be free to work and not smother it. When it is free, everyone benefits. When you stifle it, the economy dies. Kinda like right now...

PapaFox - May 5, 2013 10:21am, #54959

So in other way you have no idea what the tax rates were, or whether his statement even applies to the current situation.

PapaFox - May 5, 2013 10:18am, #54958

Do you also complain about the meeting the GOP top brass had when he was elected, to do as much as possible to stand in the way? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/25/robert-dra**r-anti-obama-campaign_n_1452899.html

PapaFox - May 5, 2013 10:13am, #54957

LOL @ Chuck Steak! :-D

JGalt - May 5, 2013 9:55am, #54956
