Cannabal - Jun 11, 2013 4:43am, #56594

Yeah, I'm gonna miss puttin' the b***hurt on the Cons here.

Cannabal - Jun 11, 2013 4:42am, #56593

Oh, thanks, Bob, you done spoiled the whole thing!

StoneTools - Jun 11, 2013 2:46am, #56592

Better yet, let's give obama a nobel peace prize. Oh, wait ...

Rudedog - Jun 11, 2013 1:53am, #56591

Always wishing your blog could be conversation.

Rudedog - Jun 11, 2013 1:36am, #56590

Really?

BobbEdwards - Jun 11, 2013 12:17am, #56589

There may actually be b***hurt involved in a few of the votes here :-D

BobbEdwards - Jun 11, 2013 12:11am, #56588

It's a spoof of the birthers, couched in their rhetoric. Period. 5L :-P

StoneTools - Jun 11, 2013 12:05am, #56587

Or you could ask Michael Vick

Cannabal - Jun 10, 2013 8:59pm, #56586

Keep in mind that the NSA has been around since the Cold War.

KaBoom - Jun 10, 2013 7:52pm, #56585

I am not talking about a speculative and nebulous "the government." I am saying there are real people right here right now that explicitly want to squelch gun rights and they will use something like that as a start.

Renza - Jun 10, 2013 7:23pm, #56584

Yes, there are always people who think anything and everything that involves the government is another step towards totalitarian fascist rule, but at least on this subject congress aside, there is a vast majority in favor of moving forward on the matter

StoneTools - Jun 10, 2013 7:12pm, #56583

and that is becoming more and more clear as the unconstitutional domestic spying unfolds for this administration and the previous one as well. Who knows what took place in the administrations prior to Bush.

Brawler - Jun 10, 2013 5:40pm, #56582

Why must everyone automatically a**ume that every post MUST be about something in America? Narrowsighted twits...

OTC - Jun 10, 2013 5:37pm, #56581

if there were no birth control available, have to wonder if a Democrat convention was in town.

OTC - Jun 10, 2013 5:36pm, #56580

where did the mom live? if the drugstore, or Wal-Mart, or Walgreens were out of stock of contraceptives, she could have gone to a truck stop or get it free from a public health clinic. oh right, liberals want that given to them by the gubmint

OTC - Jun 10, 2013 5:02pm, #56579

According to obama, the GOP went into the ditch. Its the dems taking us over the cliff

Brawler - Jun 10, 2013 4:23pm, #56578

Read the case about Beatriz before you comment... The infant was dead, carrying it to term would probably kill the mother.

Brawler - Jun 10, 2013 2:46pm, #56577

Just FYI.. Dogfighting takes place in the US as well, just ask any SPCA.. They will tell you the truth about that.

I cant believe you guys are saying anybody wants this girl to die or suffer. That is just cruel. I lean right, but this issue seems more about allocating precious resources than intentionally hurting children. There isn't a solution to every problem.

KaBoom - Jun 10, 2013 2:32pm, #56574

I dont have a problem with that conceptually, but you have to admit that there are a ton of people who would consider this just "a foot in the door" to other measures. It is the same argument for the regulation of abortion.Nullification through regulation.

KaBoom - Jun 10, 2013 2:29pm, #56573

Good point. I totally agree. Its like, "GOP might go over the cliff, but at least that wasn't their goal." lol

OTC - Jun 10, 2013 12:06pm, #56572

Pelosi- 'we need to pass this to see what's in it' Read it after it passes.

Renza - Jun 10, 2013 8:10am, #56571

Point behind that being, people really overestimate how private their private information really is. Anyone who really want's access probably already has it unfortunately.

Renza - Jun 10, 2013 8:03am, #56570

HIPAA regulations are followed surprisingly poorly, at least in some circumstances... one of the people I work with transport medical records, bank information, credit card info etc, via unlocked external HDDs through the us postal service...

Renza - Jun 10, 2013 7:56am, #56569

Kinda makes me want to run for office just so I can paper clip term limits and a ban of lobbyists onto something that's guaranteed to pass without being read.

JGalt - Jun 10, 2013 6:21am, #56568

i learned a very long time ago that none of these SOB's read anything, that's what they have interns for- "Read this and give me a synopsis of what it is".....

StoneTools - Jun 9, 2013 6:01pm, #56567

I don't think even that is authorized by HIPAA(sp?) but laws never stopped the government before. Besides it starts with dangerously unstable and moves on to "Did you serve in the military?"

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:51pm, #56566

There you go, no invasion of privacy, just the confidential holder of the medical records generically saying they have no medical reason to think person A is a danger to society.

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:50pm, #56565

Well, that brings up 2 thoughts, first - clearly they already have access if they want given this prism bs and whatever else we dont yet know about. second - who's to say the medical portion can't be limited to "yes or no, are they dangerously unstable?"

StoneTools - Jun 9, 2013 5:48pm, #56564

I think you are referring to the French Canadians

StoneTools - Jun 9, 2013 5:46pm, #56563

I believe in doctor-patient confideniality and don't want my personal information disclosed to some pimple faced government worker

StoneTools - Jun 9, 2013 5:45pm, #56562

No, I'm arguing about how ignorant your statement was in #56549. I don't think I like the idea of the government having access to confidential medical records. After all, they don't have a very good track record of keeping secrets, now do they?

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:45pm, #56561

*bow* happy to be of entertainment.

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:44pm, #56560

Seems that way, I have an easier time finding examples on the right, though more than anything I think it's because the active members here seem more right wing.

StoneTools - Jun 9, 2013 5:43pm, #56559

Unless I'm proven wrong, I usually do believe what I post.

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:42pm, #56558

Baseless confidence my friend. Besides, if you think you "exposed" me, you're about 5x late on that one.

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:40pm, #56557

so, you do believe the things you say?

Renza - Jun 9, 2013 5:40pm, #56556

So, you're arguing the validity of universal background checks by (what I hope is intentional) failure to understand how it works? Having a background check is showing. No effort required by the purchaser.
