Sunset Message

The MotiNetwork will cease to exist March 31st, 2018
Google has done a wonderful job pulling the plug on all of our traffic, and at this point, the sites cost more to run in server resources than the income they bring in. Its been a hell of 10 year ride, but the time has come to sunset the network.

how real presidents deal with radical muslim's - politics

Over the course of 10 centuries, Muslim pirates cruised the African and Mediterranean coastline, pillaging villages and seizing slaves. When American colonists rebelled against British rule in 1776, American merchant ships lost Royal Navy protection. With no American Navy for protection, American ships were attacked and their Christian crews enslaved by Muslim pirates operating under the control of the "Dey of Algiers"--an Islamist warlord ruling Algeria. Not long after Jefferson's inauguration as president in 1801, he dispatched a group of frigates to defend American interests in the Mediterranean, and informed Congress. Declaring that America was going to spend "millions for defense but not one cent for tribute," Jefferson pressed the issue by deploying American Marines and many of America's best warships to the Muslim Barbary Coast. During the Jefferson administration, the Muslim Barbary States, crumbling as a result of intense American naval bombardment and on shore raids by Marines, finally officially agreed to abandon slavery and piracy. Jefferson's victory over the Muslims lives on today in the Marine Hymn, with the line, "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our country's battles on the land as on the sea." Jefferson had been right. The "medium of war" was the only way to put and end to the Muslim problem.

Lt O'Bannon and his Marines marched across 600 miles of North African desert to rid the "shores of Tripoli" of pirates and rescue the kidnapped crew of the USS Philadelphia.

Marine Officers carry the Mameluke Sword, which was originally given to Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon in 1805 by a Mameluke chieftain in North Africa.

Or is it an original work?
Renza - April 21, 2013, 12:17 am
Where exactly did you read this...?
ChadAllen - April 20, 2013, 11:35 pm
I do know what I'm talking about. Congress had been paying tribute for 10 years up until Jefferson took Office. Take your revisionist history elsewhere there Curlyrocks.
Curlyrocks - April 20, 2013, 10:58 pm
This is totaly wrong you have no idea what your talking about. They paid off the Barbery pirates and ended up signing the treaty of Tripoly, using diplomacy against the radical muslims, what a concept.

A closet Muslim - politics

This is the same president that spent the Christmas holidays in Hawaii to avoid religious obligations as president at the White House. His children do not receive Christmas presents. Let's just face the facts and quit trying to distort the truth, we have a Muslim for president in the White House, and he has no knowledge of American history. It's unbelievable that this proud nation would permit a socialist-leaning Marxist to lead us down this destructive path we're on. Yet, like a bunch of sheep being led to the slaughter, some are still bleating, "Obaa-baa-ma!" President Obama is guilty of the most outrageous, disingenuous acts ever by an American president but hasn't been held accountable for any of them. So far.
