Lame duck? More like lame chicken hawk - politics President Barack Hussein Obama may have just set a new record. After being elected the first president of color (is that color black? Or white?) he now might have just become the earliest lame duck president in history. After telling Russian Leader Vladimir Putin to be patient, because he'd "have more flexibility" after he won a second term, Obama has learned that a new definition for flexibility includes "Not getting anything you want." You can only be a lame duck if your own party makes you one. Obama has demonstrated somewhere between zero and no support from the Democratic Party. You couldn't have asked for a more demonstrative trigger event for legislation than the Connecticut shootings. School children were involved. So was a mentally ill person. Tragically bad combination. What does Obama choose to do about it? Gun control. Not mental health legislation. Gun control. Well, that's a snap in the Democrat-controlled Senate, right? Later, when it fails to pass in the House, he can rail on the GOP and use his considerable campaign war chest (what does a lame duck president need a campaign war chest for?) to campaign against Republican Congress-persons. Except the House never received a bill from the Senate. He couldn't muster support for one from his own party.
