Sunset Message

The MotiNetwork will cease to exist March 31st, 2018
Google has done a wonderful job pulling the plug on all of our traffic, and at this point, the sites cost more to run in server resources than the income they bring in. Its been a hell of 10 year ride, but the time has come to sunset the network.

Indisputable Science - politics

Phlogiston, proposed in 1667 by Johann Joachim Becher, is another element to add to the list of indisputable scientific "facts" ; it wasn't fire itself, but the stuff fire was made of. All combustible objects contained this stuff, Becher insisted, and they released it when they burned. Scientists bought into the theory and used it to explain a few things about fire and burning: why things burned out (must have run out of phlogiston), why fire needed air to burn (air must absorb phlogiston), why we breathe (to get rid of phlogiston in the body). What? You've never heard of phlogiston? Maybe it's because it never existed except in the minds of "scientists"

What makes manmade global warming any different?

Science has disproven science on a number of occasions. b***er being one of them, plogiston being another. There are countless instances where science has to abruptly reverse gears on conclusions that they've made when evidence rears its ugly head.

shortsighted, conjectural posters? My, my, seems like I struck a nerve. You really should attempt to leave your emotions out of any debates. It really doesn't help your cause.
Zeitguy - July 21, 2014, 11:58 pm
You denial that GW is affected by human activity is based on your lack of trust in science. Conversely 97% of those that trust the scientific method are compelled to accept the evidence as presented.
Zeitguy - July 21, 2014, 11:49 pm
Your belief that GW is false is apparent. Your shortsighted, conjectural posters that lack any scientific evidence to the contrary are reminiscent of the creationists battle with evolutionists.
EmmaRoydes - July 21, 2014, 8:15 am
You are correct that science show that phlogiston theory was horse****, but it also embraced the theory prior to denouncing it. Science can also be used to prove a natural cycle of climate change.
EmmaRoydes - July 21, 2014, 8:07 am
I think you missed my point. It's not that science is complete horsehit, it's that science is not infallible and has had its fair share of rabbit holes.

dont think you can just talk **** about my chosen profession, without me having something to say about it.

FBI Finally Investigating Something - politics

Justice Department officials are investigating a controversial float that took part in a Fourth of July parade in Norfolk, Nebraska. It depicted President Obama’s future presidential library – a building to commemorate his legacy – as an outhouse. Out of all the scandals of the Obama administration that garnered no investigations from Holder, now he decides to investigate an anti-obama float.

Both Sarah and Rick could be used as evidence that humans don't evolve.

We only had a couple of million dollars between us! I know how it feels to be poor and struggle to put caviar on the table and gas in a maserati.

I agree, but I would have used more opulent examples: ie flying by chartered corporate jet, exclusive country club memberships, etc, just to drive the point home about "out of touch"
