He would know. Reagan was as full of crap as they come, a second-rate actor from start to finish.
Cannabal - April 8, 2013, 3:10 pm,
Yeah, he saved it before he f***ed it up in his second term.
Renza - April 8, 2013, 8:19 pm,
reaganomics, yay
PapaFox - April 8, 2013, 10:57 pm,
Still doing their best to "trickle" all over the poor and middle class.
WTFO - April 8, 2013, 11:59 pm,
Amazing ignorance about the facts of Reagan's policies and how successful they were. Unlike Obama, Reagan was able to fix the mess Carter and a Dem Congress created. It started a 20 yr growth period. You liberals fail at facts and history.
WTFO - April 9, 2013, 12:00 am,
You lie (or are ignorant) of the success of Reagan era while completely ignoring the fact that Obama has destroyed the poor and middle class with his failed Obamanomics. Sad little haters, I pity you.

Oh, the icredible irony! :-D

You could actually site facts and sources on this if you think your statement is correct, otherwise it's just going to sound like angry right wing conservative default political talking points like so many people try to use.

Renza, you want facts/sources? Okay:

One more thing. I am in no way "angry". I'm concerned that this President is driving my nation into the ground financially. I'm concerned that my kids will suffer from the policies of this inexperienced, visceral, lying community organizer.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:24 am,
See, citing facts/sources can offer much more legitimacy to arguments. Though at least one or two of those looked kinda biased. I'll also point out that congress has to approve budgets, the president only gets a say if they work with him.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:29 am,
If you're worried about your kids future, I'd be much more concerned with the broken and divisive partisan politics that are going on rather than just one guy who has limited power.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:33 am,
If conservatives would actually quit fighting every single attempt taken to try to fix the economy, we probably would be showing much more success by now, but like children, that probably wont happen until they get their way and have a rep in office.
StoneTools - April 26, 2013, 8:37 am,
I think you are forgetting about executive orders which are used and abused by presidents to bypass a congress that doesn't toe the line that the president draws.
StoneTools - April 26, 2013, 8:39 am,
you also have presidents who will only enforce the parts of laws that they agree with. They do control the justice department, military, and intelligence agencies.
StoneTools - April 26, 2013, 8:41 am,
I don't think congress is capable of fixing the economy. They are led around by the nose by lobbyists and partisan bickering. Both parties live by the "My way or the highway" mantra and will not compromise.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:48 am,
Yeah, unfortunately congress is probably more corrupt than even cynics think, and yeah, I'm not saying the president is powerless, I'm just saying he does have limited power, most presidents seem to try to limit how often executive order is used...
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:51 am,
...Though pushing a full on budget through with executive order couldn't... well, probably wouldn't be any worse than the ridiculous we have going on currently. We really need to find a way to implement term limits on congress...

We also need public vetting of candidates with truthful, unbiased reporting. Biased reporting contributes heavily to having morons in government. It's also the biggest impediment to getting a good 3rd party candidate for any office.

In the last election, Johnson was poopooed in the press and received very little publicity in the news outlets. He was a bad candidate, but he still should have been treated better in the press.
