Sunset Message

The MotiNetwork will cease to exist March 31st, 2018
Google has done a wonderful job pulling the plug on all of our traffic, and at this point, the sites cost more to run in server resources than the income they bring in. Its been a hell of 10 year ride, but the time has come to sunset the network.

where I live they are putting in CNG at some stations cause it is used by a lot of companies around here

Back to the matter at hand though, moving to a different liquid fuel (while arguably much more practical) is probably as equally unlikely to occur as moving to an alternative fuel source. Oil companies got a lot of money riding on gasoline as it is.

Seriously... smart people can be some of the dumbest people around... Who thought it was a good idea to name a measurement of performance exactly the same as the primary chemical compound it was based upon 0.o
Curlyrocks - April 26, 2013, 3:23 pm
And it would be way easier to replace one liquid fuel for another as the infrastructure is already there. I like methanol because it can be make from most any bio-mass like waste vegetation, coal, oil, what evers in the neighborhood.
Curlyrocks - April 26, 2013, 3:12 pm
Octane is a measure of rate burn and heat,101 octane methanol burns slower and h**ter than 100% octane. And on top of the $ to be made the auto industry spent the last 100 years sinking all their eggs in the internal combustion engine. They wont drop it.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 7:52 am
more octane than octane? Anyway, hydrogen and electric probably could very easily and quickly (relatively speaking given the scope) replace liquid fuels... But I agree, I don't see it happening for a good while, too much money to be made.
Curlyrocks - April 25, 2013, 8:37 pm
I'm sticking with methanol. It's the only thing other than leaded gas that has more octane than octane, and it can be made from almost any bio-mass, including waste vegetation. I can't see hydrogen or electric replacing liquid fuel any time soon.
Renza - April 25, 2013, 8:27 am
I believe the infrastructure is already started for hydrogen fuel stations, but yeah, it will take some time before it's as common place as gasoline.
PapaFox - April 25, 2013, 8:05 am
Hence the push for more non-food biofuel research. And yeah, I'd like to see more use of hydrogen cars, though the infrastructure would take some time to develop.

Actually the corn lobby is supported by both Republicans and Democrats.

America is being destroyed from within - politics

We're being destroyed from within by a socialistic bureaucracy whose overriding goal is its own survival at the cost of national security, which as the historian Thomas Cahill asserts was one of the major reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire. Lincoln said in 1838, "At what point ... is the approach of danger to be expected. I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time, or die by suicide." Socialism and a Constitutional Republic cannot exist together. They cancel each other out, and if America chooses socialism, it is committing suicide.

THIS GOVERNMENT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL - politics

WHY IS THE MASS MEDIA MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT THE SUPPOSED BOSTON BOMBERS "POSSIBLE" CONNECTION TO AL QAEDA BUT SAYING NOTHING ABOUT OUR GOVERNMENT SUPPORTING THE SYRIAN REBEL GROUP "AL NUSRA" WITH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN AID WHICH HAS OPENLY PLEDGED THEIR ALLEGIANCE TO AL QAEDA?
